Cott Beverages announced that its Star PhytoNutrients division has received independent, third party GMP (good manufacturing practice) certification from NSF International for dietary supplements, following an audit of the company's production and quality systems in Dunkirk, N.Y.

"We are extremely proud of this recent certification by the respected auditing team at NSF International," said Doug Lynch, VP Business Development of the Star PhytoNutrients division. "It underscores the commitment we all make to providing best in class, botanical-based ingredients and services," continued Mr. Lynch.

GMP certification requires adherence to quality control and manufacturing process standards across the entire production process, including ingredient management, employee training, finished product management and product tracing.

Cott's Star PhytoNutrients division develops and markets value-added botanical, fruit, antioxidant and highly functional ingredients, specializing in juice concentrates, fruit powders, and fruit extracts for use in food, beverages, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals. With a full line of ingredients derived from cranberries, the number one botanical ingredient in North America, Star PhytoNutrients has developed proprietary technologies for enhanced product functionality.
