The organization has held two scientific symposiums that have brought together international regulators with the scientific community to address issues relevant to international policy. CRN-I’s third one-day scientific symposium—“Nutrient Reference Values for Bioactives: New Approaches”—will take place December 1, 2012 in Germany, prior to the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) meeting. In addition, a fourth CRN-I symposium is being planned for 2013.
CRN-I membership is open to all manufacturers, marketers and distributors of dietary supplements and ingredients. Current CRN-I funders include: Abbott Nutrition; DSM Nutritional Products; Herbalife Ltd.; Lonza, Inc.; Natural Alternatives International, Inc.; NBTY, Inc.; NSA, the maker of Juice Plus+; Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc.; Pharmavite, LLC; Reliv International, Inc.; and The Vitamin Shoppe.
