DKSH and WACKER start strategic partnership

Under the exclusive distribution agreement, DKSH will market WACKER’s Biosolutions products: fermenter cysteine and bioengineered cyclodextrins.

DKSH's Business Unit Performance Materials, a leading specialty chemicals distributor, has started a strategic partnership with WACKER. Under the exclusive distribution agreement, DKSH will market WACKER’s Biosolutions products: fermenter cysteine and bioengineered cyclodextrins, which are premium sugar compounds marketed under the CAVASOL® and CAVAMAX® trademarks. The new regional agreement covers the whole of South East Asia, Greater China and parts of the India subcontinent, specifically India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

WACKER is the leading company to produce vegetarian cystine and cysteine using advanced biotechnology processes. The cysteine is purely vegetarian without any human or animal origin, hence ideally suitable for food applications such as bakery products or flavors. Moreover, it is also used in personal care products. Applications for cyclodextrins range from food and dietary supplement to personal care products.

“Thanks to our unparalleled distribution footprint in Asia, we can leverage on our size, experience, and industry know-how to provide tailored services and exceptional distribution opportunities for WACKER Biosolutions,” comments Cori Diaz, vice president, key client management, DKSH Performance Materials. “In line with our focus on strategic business and relationship development with current and potential key clients, this cooperation with WACKER represents another milestone since establishing the new key client function in 2011. We are proud to be chosen by WACKER as a key distribution partner and look forward to a fruitful collaboration.”

WACKER Biosolutions is WACKER Group’s life science division. Based on advanced biotech processes, it offers tailored and innovative solutions and products for the food, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
