DKSH strengthens regulatory affairs services

Newly organized and renamed Regulatory Affairs team is based on global teams of experts who share cross-border and cross-business best practices for safety, quality assurance and compliance.

DKSH Business Unit Performance Materials, a leading specialty chemicals distributor, continues investing in strong regulatory expertise and professionalism to comply with increasing regulatory and compliance requirements in the markets and business areas in which DKSH, the Swiss-headquartered company, operates. DKSH combines both market expertise and profound knowledge of the regulatory environment to offer best-in-class Regulatory Affairs services, an important service offering in DKSH’s value chain of Market Expansion Services.

In order to strengthen the organization, Dr. Robert Koller has been appointed global Head Regulatory Affairs. The newly organized and renamed Regulatory Affairs team is based on global teams of experts and local Regulatory Affairs competence centers (RACC). The teams share cross-border and cross-business (pharmaceuticals, personal care, food ingredients, and chemicals) best practices for safety, health and environment, quality assurance and registrations in compliance with standards such as REACH, the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use.

Dr. Koller explains: “We are convinced that strong regulatory affairs know-how combined with a market-driven approach is a key success factor to position us at the top of the specialty chemicals industry. In a globalized business world, there is the increasing need and trend of harmonization and standardization. DKSH’s Regulatory Affairs has established a reputation of offering top-notch regulatory expertise globally and we are looking forward to continue our efforts in ensuring the highest quality of compliance and safety for our business partners.”

Located close to customers and regulatory bodies is a critical necessity to ensure compliance and brand reputation. To meet the local and regional requirements, DKSH has set up experienced RACCs in Thailand (also in charge for Malaysia and Indonesia), Philippines, Japan (also in charge for Korea), China, India and France (also in charge for the US and Australia) to cover regulatory needs in those markets.
