Dr. Sneh Bhandari, Silliker Director of Chemistry Research and Development, was recently named a Fellow of AOAC INTERNATIONAL. Dr. Bhandari received a special medal and plaque during the organization’s 125th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. In a career spanning over two decades at Silliker, Dr. Bhandari has developed over 50 testing methods for food and beverage matrices. A past and current member of several AOAC groups, including the Official Methods Board, Dr. Bhandari received the prestigious honor for his “meritorious service to AOAC.”
Silliker, Inc., the leading international network of accredited food testing and consulting laboratories, has begun construction on a new laboratory in Crete, IL. The
organization’s Chicago Heights and South Holland, IL, operations will be consolidated into the new building on an 11-acre site.
When completed mid next year at Steger Road and Illinois 394, the 71,000-square-foot facility will be one of the largest food testing laboratories in the United States. The company has also secured the future option to purchase additional adjacent plots of land from Crete Property Development LLC.
“The Crete laboratory will be our most sophisticated building and will serve as a blueprint for future Silliker developments both here and abroad,” said Johannes Burlin, President of Silliker North America. “Our new state-of-the-art facility will enhance our ability to deliver practical and innovative solutions to companies throughout the food supply chain.”
Located 30 miles south of downtown Chicago, Crete is one of the area’s fastest growing industrial and commercial centers.
