Stephen B. Sondike, M.D., the program director of the NEW Kids™ Program (Nutrition, Exercise and Weight Management) at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and one of America’s leading authorities on childhood obesity, has been named to the Editorial Advisory Board of LowCarb Living, the leading low-carb lifestyle magazine. The announcement was made today by Catherine LaCroix, editor-in-chief of the bimonthly now reaching more than 300,000 readers in over 50,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The NEW Kids Program, introduced to the public in January 2004, focuses on children who are overweight and have medical problems related to overweight. Geared toward a holistic treatment of pediatric overweight, the program coordinates efforts of nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, physical therapists and physicians.
Dr. Sondike is assistant professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric adolescent medicine and his major areas of specialty are pediatrics and gastroenterology.
He received his medical degree from the State University of New York in Brooklyn. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, N.Y., where he was awarded a fellowship in adolescent medicine.
