Farm Fresh Supermarkets Offers In-store Resources on Healthy Living

Healthnotes EasyAnswers Touchscreens Added to Eleven Stores; Second retail chain to roll out the new EasyAnswers Touchscreens, first in mid-Atlantic Region

PORTLAND, Ore. - June 29, 2004 - Healthnotes Inc. (HNI) today announced that Farm Fresh Supermarkets is the first store chain in the mid-Atlantic region to feature Healthnotes EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosks in-store. Farm Fresh has deployed fifteen kiosks in eleven of its stores; four stores are using kiosks in multiple departments.

Based on the location in-store, the EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosks will run the corresponding department-specific application from HNI. Five kiosks are running Foodnotes Meat & Seafood, two are running Foodnotes Fresh Produce, four are running Healthnotes Pharmacy, and four are running Healthnotes Healthy Living. All four applications include consistent information, but are tailored for the specific department-offering shoppers an interactive, up-to-date resource on health, food, nutrition, and lifestyle storewide.

"Farm Fresh is committed to being a great place to shop and helping our shoppers make healthy, informed lifestyle choices is an integral part of that commitment," said Ron Dennis, president and COO for Farm Fresh Supermarkets. "We are excited to offer Healthnotes as a reliable, self-service resource on healthy living in multiple departments."

"Numerous studies show consumers are using a wide variety of products to maintain their health, including foods, vitamins, and herbal remedies," stated Schuyler Lininger, HNI president and CEO. "By offering Healthnotes in-store, Farm Fresh is providing the information their shoppers want and need to make confident, healthy purchase decisions."

Healthnotes kiosk applications include easy-to-understand information on health concerns, vitamins, herbs, weight control, sports and fitness, healthy eating, and foods. Healthnotes also offers vital safety information on the potential interactions between supplements and frequently used prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and offers hundreds of tasty, healthy recipes where shoppers need them most-at the supermarket. Shoppers can print the articles and recipes free of charge.

In addition to providing healthy living information, the Healthnotes applications also track customer use and provide Farm Fresh with real-time, actionable data on their customers' top health concerns and product interests. Farm Fresh can use this information to better serve their customers through additional variety and informational resources.
