Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals Set To Expand In 2002

New Hope Natural Media has announced expanded circulation and enhanced editorial coverage for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals (FFN). From January 2002 the first completely global, raw ingredient supply publication for the functional foods industry will be distributed to 5000 readers in the United States in addition to its existing 5000 readers throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Publication frequency will be stepped up from six to eleven issues a year.

The move comes as New Hope invests substantial resources to expand FFN's editorial coverage across the globe and positions the publication to complement Nutracon, the industry's premier nutraceutical conference.

Editorial director Peter Sofroniou said the new strategy would enable the publication to increase its coverage of global issues and focus on more in-depth news stories of significance to both ingredient suppliers and product manufacturers. "In addition we shall be introducing fully referenced and peer-reviewed scientific articles which will help formulators and product technologists gain ideas for new product development," he said.

From an advertiser's perspective, publisher Mike Roberts said the new FFN would deliver an international marketplace to those US ingredient suppliers looking to trade overseas and provide the opportunity for European and Asian suppliers to reach the American market.
