The Board of Directors for Gardenburger, Inc. announced the election of Scott C. Wallace to Chairman of the Board for Gardenburger, Inc., effective May 16, 2002. This marks an expanded role for Wallace, the Company’s current President and Chief Executive Officer.
Outgoing Chairman, Ron Kesselman, said “I believe I have accomplished the two major goals I set when I became Chairman: to locate an outstanding new CEO for Gardenburger, and to assure there was a strategy in place to take the company into the future. Under Wallace’s leadership, the Company has developed a new strategic vision and produced financial results that demonstrate Gardenburger is positioned to deliver strong revenue and earnings growth.” Kesselman, Chairman and CEO of Elmer’s Products, Inc., will remain on the board as a Director.
Wallace joined Gardenburger in January 2001, bringing more than two decades of consumer products experience to the meatless industry leader. Prior to Gardenburger, Wallace was CEO of Hawaii based Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation. In this role, he led the Company’s expansion, reversed declining revenues and earnings, and engineered the company’s successful sale to San Francisco based buyout firm, The Shansby Group.
