GeneLink Annouces Worlds' First Genetically Customized Vitamin Formulations Will be Offered in August

MARGATE, N.J.--(BW HealthWire)--May 28, 2002--GeneLink,Inc., (OTCBB:GNLK) announced today that their latest licensee, NuGenix,LLC, Berwyn, PA., will begin selling in August the world's first genetically designed vitamin and nutritional supplement regimen that is formulated according to a person's genetic make-up. NuGenix is a direct selling company focused on developing a large network of distributors who will market direct-to-consumer customized nutritional and personal care formulations. Their sales representatives will explain the health and wellness benefits of a genetically customized nutritional supplementation regimen. NuGenix will be utilizing GeneLink's patented DNA Collection Kit(R) and its proprietary profile and nutragenetic assessment system (patents pending).

NuGenix has placed a substantial initial order with GeneLink for product. The launch of the distribution network will occur in two phases: a `soft launch' and start-up in key markets in August, and formal start-up of the full national network in the fall of this year.

"We expect to make our first delivery to an American household in just a few weeks," says Monte Taylor, Director of Business Development for GeneLink. "We believe it's a major breakthrough to make these health benefits available to consumers for the first time. To personalize a nutritional supplement regimen based on genetic profiling is an idea whose time has come."

The new tailored formulations will help combat oxidative stress, which is associated with disease and aging, and will include ingredients aimed at providing optimal circulatory, neurological and bone health. For the first time, simply by swabbing the inside of your mouth and sending the collected sample to GeneLink's laboratories, a person can benefit from a program of vitamin intake or nutritional supplementation that matches his or her personal genetic profile.

"This advances the science of dietary supplement intake," Taylor said. "You can get ahead of many problems by knowing your specific genetic susceptibilities and adjusting your nutrient intake and lifestyle to compensate for them. This is the first time that genetics has been used to measure your defenses against oxidative stress as well as genes involved in other key aspects of health, such as circulation and bone health."

GeneLink, Inc. (OTCBB:GNLK), a pioneering genetic biosciences company which has developed a DNA banking and hereditary genetic information service, has created a proprietary method for genetic assessments (patents pending). The company is beginning to license these breakthrough nutragenetic and dermagenetic profiles to companies that market or manufacture products for the $100 billion plus skin care, nutritional supplement and health care industries.
