GTC Nutrition to Present at the International Trade Fair of Technology for the Pharmaceutical Industry

GOLDEN, Colorado, Friday, May 13, 2005 – GTC Nutrition, a business unit of Corn Products International, Inc. (NYSE: CPO), announced today that the Company will give a scientific presentation at the 10th annual International Trade Fair of Technology for the Pharmaceutical Industry, which has been organized as a forum to educate the pharmaceutical industry about advances in raw material and equipment technology. The trade fair is scheduled to take place May 17-19, 2005 at the Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil.

GTC Nutrition’s manager of scientific affairs, Linda C. Douglas, Ph.D., R.D., was selected as an expert speaker to participate in the Pharmaceutical Technology Conference, which is designed to present pharmaceutical ingredients and technologies to the industry. Dr. Douglas will present on “The Medical and Pharmaceutical Benefits of Short-Chain Fructooligosaccharides.”

“Short-chain fructooligosaccharides have been effectively used in medical nutrition to address the effects of low-residue formulated nutrition in hospitals,” said Douglas. “I look forward to presenting the benefits of prebiotic fiber on gut health, mineral absorption, renal nutrition, and maintenance of normal intestinal flora, which are well documented in scientific literature, to an international audience.”
