Health Wright Products, Inc. today announced that it has received Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Sport™ Registration from NSF International. GMP for Sport™ Registration helps minimize the risk that sports nutritional products contain banned substances.
NSF’s GMP for Sport™ Program provides manufacturers, such as Health Wright Products, with a means to build brand credibility for their customers, while increasing market presence among finished product companies. Health Wright Products’ GMP for Sport™ registration verifies that the company complies with cGMPs – guidelines that provide procedures to verify the product produced has the identity, strength, composition, quality, and purity that it is represented to possess. For manufacturers, this designation is extremely important in that it shows that facilities have means in place to prevent cross-contamination in addition to the other production checks and cross checks in place to produce consistent, highest quality products.
“In today’s increasingly stringent regulatory environment it is more important than ever to offer our customers and consumers the assurance their products are produced in accordance with the highest GMP standards available, and NSF is possibly the most respected third-party verifications available,” said Mark Wright, President / Owner of Health Wright Products. “Since 2004, Health Wright Products has been proud to offer the NSF Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Registration as proof and pledge of the commitment to quality we provide.”
To obtain GMP for Sport™ registration, Health Wright Products completed and will continue to comply with all of the following program requirements:
• Two annual GMP for Sport™ audits – Verifies ongoing compliance to GMP requirements.
• Manufacturer affidavits – Validates that manufacturers do not source, purchase or inventory any component contained on the banned substances list as identified by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), NFL/NFLPA, and MLB/MLBPA prohibitive substances lists.
• Active ingredient supplier affidavits – Required for suppliers that participate in the NSF Certified for Sport™ Program.
• GMP compliance – Outlined in Section 8 of NSF/ANSI Standard 173 for Dietary Supplements, GMPs verify that guidelines exist for the following processes:
-plant and grounds maintenance/sanitation
-sourcing and traceability
-equipment design and maintenance
-quality assurance issues
-raw material traceability & sourcing.
“I would like to congratulate Health Wright Products on their GMP for Sport™ registration,” said Edward Wyszumiala, General Manager of NSF’s Dietary Supplement Programs. “This registration complements their GMP registration and continues to emphasize their company’s ongoing pursuit of excellence.”
For complying with all requirements of the NSF GMP for Sport™ Program, Health Wright Products has been issued a plaque and is listed on the NSF website. Health Wright Products may also use the NSF GMP for Sport™ mark in advertising and collateral materials.
