Foundation Honored for the Far-reaching Effects of Free Vitamin Distribution Program for at-risk Kids.
Murrieta, CA --- From metropolitan cities to rural country settings, at-risk children are making dramatic improvements in school performance, health, behavior and self-esteem through The Healthy Foundation’s Vitamin Relief USA™ programs. This week the California Association of Non-Profits (CAN) is celebrating The Healthy Foundation’s good work with an important award.
“CAN’s first-ever Impact Award goes to The Healthy Foundation of Murrieta, California for the impacts it’s already made on thousands of disadvantaged children,” says Florence L. Green, CAN Executive Director.
Vitamin Relief USA™ provides high quality, chewable multi vitamin/minerals to nearly 10,000 kids a day, in 36 states through 175 collaborative partner sites, including public schools. This past winter, parents, teachers and site staff reported surprising changes they noticed in children taking The Healthy Foundation vitamins. The children had greater energy, better concentration, fewer illnesses and absences, improved grades, more stable emotions and higher self-esteem.
Late last year, Congress took notice of the substantial improvements vitamins make in underprivileged children and awarded The Healthy Foundation an earmarked appropriation of $500,000 to formally research how multivitamins effect school aged, at-risk children.
“CAN is proud to have The Healthy Foundation as a member and as part of our state’s nonprofit community. Its creative and collaborative work fighting malnutrition nationwide truly represents the best of nonprofit thinking, resources and action,” remarked Green.
“The Healthy Foundation wishes to thank the California Association of Non-Profits for acknowledging the impact of our programs with this prestigious award. We’d also like to thank all the generous sponsors and supporters whose efforts and contributions have made Vitamin Relief USA™ a reality. In particular, we thank Tishcon Corp for their donation of 70,000 bottles a year of children’s vitamins and their pledge to provide the vitamins for our research for Congress, ” says Dr. Hyla Cass, president of The Healthy Foundation.
