The Healthy Foundation/Vitamin Relief USA Announces New Board Members

Murrieta, CA (September 24, 2004) – The Healthy Foundation/Vitamin Relief USA’s Executive Director Dr. Michael Morton announces the new Board of Directors:

Gail Montgomery – President
Ms. Montgomery is President and Chief Executive Officer of Nutrition 21 and experienced in turnarounds, new business development, management and product innovation.

Connie Whitaker - Vice President
Active in the health industry for the last 20 years, Ms. Whitaker is a complementary medical and health care center administrator, a mother and a respected advocate for children’s issues in both health and education.

Bruce Bouché, DC – Secretary/Treasurer
Dr. Bouché, Vice President of Global Nutraceuticals for Endomatrix, Inc.. A veteran in the nutraceutical industry, Dr. Bouché formerly spent eight years in business development with the Capsugel Division of Pfizer.

Heather Berg – Board Member
Ms. Berg is the founder of Berg Recruiting Naturally, a placement firm serving the Natural Products industry.

James M. Blum, Ph.D. – Board Member Dr. Blum is CEO of Marshall-Blum, a healthcare and consulting and research firm, specializing in clinical trials, advanced methods of data analysis, and outcomes-based solutions.

John B. Carey, Jr. - Board Member
Mr. Carey is a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at the U.S. Trust Corporation, a Charles Schwab Company.

Hyla Cass, M.D. – Board Member
Dr. Cass is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UCLA School of Medicine, Chair of the American Institute of Integrative Medicine at the American University for Complementary Medicine, as well as noted author of the books St. John’s Wort: Nature’s Blues Buster, Kava: Nature’s Answer to Stress, Anxiety and Insomnia, All About St. John’s Wort, All About Herbs and Natural Highs As past president of The Healthy Foundation from 2001 to 2004, Dr. Cass served with distinction advancing the foundation to early acclaim and success.

Brie Stranahan – Board Member
Brie is the former owner and manager of The Athletic Club Fitness Center in Nederland, Colorado.

The Healthy Foundation’s mission is to provide at-risk populations with basic nutrients through supplementation. The organization develops initiatives and collaborations that provide nutritional supplementation for adults and children at risk for nutritional deficiency, supports educational and informational programs that teach the importance of nutritional supplementation for marginal populations and advances high-quality research on the efficacy of nutritional supplementation for those at risk for nutritional deficiency.
