Herbalife Appoints Luigi Gratton, M.D., M.P.H, Vice President, Medical Affairs and Education

LOS ANGELES, Apr 18, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) announces the appointment of Luigi Gratton, M.D., M.P.H., as vice president, medical affairs and education. Dr. Gratton will officially begin July 5, 2005.

Dr. Gratton will coordinate the strategic management and direction of Herbalife's Medical Advisory Board (MAB), which is chaired by David Heber, M.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The MAB guides product research and development, ensuring the quality, benefits and safety of products. Members educate distributors on product usage and give health-news updates through multiple company channels and live training events around the world. The MAB also provides an educational resource for doctors and healthcare professionals, who recommend Herbalife products to their patients.

Dr. Gratton earned an undergraduate degree in Science and a Masters in Public Health from University of California, Los Angeles. He was awarded a Medical Degree from Mount Sinai Medical School of New York University and fulfilled his residency in Family Medicine at Los Angeles County Hubert Humphrey Family Medicine Center. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition Dr. Gratton has worked as a physician specialist in family medicine and as a clinical physician at the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition in the Risk Factor Obesity Program.

Dr. Gratton has been awarded Diplomate of The American Board of Family Practice and The American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists. He is the author of numerous articles on nutrition and obesity, and has appeared on television speaking on nutrition, anti-aging medicine, sports nutrition, and other medical topics.
