New facility for Embria
Ankeny, Iowa is the new home for EMBRIA HEALTH SCIENCES' corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. One of the newest additions to the industrial area of Ankeny known as the 'bioscience corridor,' Embria's 36,000-square-foot, $10 million facility houses company office space, a product warehouse, a packaging gallery, and large manufacturing and research areas.

TREE TOP, the world's largest processor of apple and pear products, is now offering its production facilities and staff for contract manufacturing. With six processing plants on the West Coast, Tree Top can manufacture and package a wide range of fruit and beverage products, as well as allergen-free, organic, and kosher- and halal-certified products. Texture centre for National Starch
The NATIONAL STARCH FOOD INNOVATION has broken ground on a Texture Center of Excellence, scheduled to be operational in 2008. The New Jersey facility will include a focus-group room with observation area, a computerized descriptive analysis room, a culinary kitchen, isolated testing booths and client meeting rooms.

More distribution for organic dairy
Organic dairy processor NATURALLY IOWA, producer of organic and all-natural fluid milk, ice cream and drinkable yoghurt, has signed a distribution agreement with ORGANIC LOGISTICS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the CROPP Cooperative. The contract gives Naturally Iowa the ability to deliver products to organic, natural and national grocery chains across the US, with weekly services to all the points of their logistics network nationwide and twice-weekly service to major markets.

Bioriginal earns ISO 22000
Essential fatty-acid company BIORIGINAL has been granted ISO 22000 certification, a new international Food Safety Management System Standard integrating the quality requirements set out in ISO 9001 with the food safety obligations of HACCP. It is a more encompassing standard, which bridges the gaps between quality and food-safety regulations, allowing companies to apply a logical integration of these two systems.
