Who Should Attend The International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference?

Sports nutritionists are a new group of professionals who are multi-dimensional in training. With backgrounds in exercise science, nutrition, biochemistry, and the allied health sciences, the demand for a competent sports nutritionist is growing rapidly. Thus, it is critical that sports nutrition professionals remain abreast of the latest scientific findings.

In addition, our attendees a diverse array of individuals who hail from fitness and business environments including: private research organizations, sports supplements companies, functional foods/beverages companies, entrepreneurs, educators and students alike. Academicians and clinical researchers (PhD, MD level) will also glean important and timely information from our conference. The ISSN is the 1st society dedicated to sports nutrition. There is no better place to learn the latest in fast-paced field of sports nutrition!

Course Objectives
The ISSN Program Committee has developed a unique blend of basic science lectures that include the latest science of macronutrients, supplements (e.g. creatine), nutrient timing, real-world application to sports, and other intriguing topics. Furthermore, there are lectures covering regulatory issues concerning the sports nutrition business. Our inspiring lectures provide cutting-edge information to nutrition professionals, industry representatives, or interested consumers who want timely and accurate information on sports nutrition. There is an invaluable opportunity to network with the best and the brightest minds in the sports nutrition business.

Specific Objectives:
1. Understand the relationships among exercise and the ingestion (whether acute or chronic) of macronutrients and supplements.

2. Understand the effect, if any, of various micronutrients, macronutrients, and supplements on sports
performance and/or body composition.

3. Develop a better understanding of the industry and regulatory aspects of the sports nutrition business.

4. Learn ‘real-world’ application of sports nutrition from select world-class athletes.
