Irish Supplements Withdrawn from Market

The Food Safety authority of Ireland has requested that 10 herbal supplements be withdrawn from the market due to irraditation during processing and improper labelling of the finished products.

The products affected are: Boots' Dong Quai; Cynara's Turmeric; Good 'n' Natural Raspberry Leaves, Silymarin Milk Thistle and Saw Palmetto; Holland & Barrett's Unique Garlic; Nature's Way Butcher's Broom Root; Rivo's Devil's Claw; Solgar's Devil's Claw and Sona's Black Cohosh.

EU regulations permit only certain constituents of supplements to be irradiated, provided consumers are notified through appropriate labelling. For food products under existing legislation, labelling is also mandatory for products which have been irradiated.
