Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Study - Recruiting Completed

Ankeny, Iowa (June 6, 2005) – Proliant Health Ingredients announces completion of recruiting for their Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Clinical Trial utilizing ImmunoLin.

ImmunoLin is a natural, casein-free,lactose-free, soluble, protein isolate with a clean taste and light color.

The Clinical Trial β€œThe Efficacy of Bovine Serum Globulin (BSG) on Symptoms, General Health and Quality of Life in Individuals with Diarrhea-Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)” includes
45 patients with diarrhea-predominant IBS. The patients were supplemented with bovine serum globulin for 6 weeks. The primary outcome measure was the frequency and severity of loose stool. Secondary outcomes included other GI symptoms as indicated by symptom score sheet, general health as indicated by basic blood chemistry pre and post supplementation, and quality of life as indicated by the IBS-36 quality of life questionnaire.

This study is being conducted by KGK Synergize Inc. in London, Ontario with Dr. David Crowley (M.D.) as Principle Investigator. The expected completion of the study is June 17, 2005 with analysis and reporting targeted for July 1, 2005.
