In preparing the nation for the Iraq war back in 2003, Bush White House chief of staff Andrew Card famously said, "From a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in August."
Which brings to mind this week's IFT show in Chicago, followed by the NBJ Summit in Dana Point, California. In, ahem, July. Surely this counts.
While most Americans might be entertaining themselves with beach novels or other stay-cations, the food, beverage and supplements industries are busy in Chicago unveiling new products, new science, new innovations — and new concerns about the shifting regulatory landscape.
The New Hope Natural Media booth is #4973 on the IFT show floor. This is of course home to the New Hope Supply Network — the portfolio of properties including NPIcenter, Functional Ingredients magazine, Nutracon conference and the NutriCosmetic Summit. Also on hand at the New Hope booth will be additional publications including Delicious Living, Natural Foods Merchandiser and Nutrition Business Journal. Stop by to subscribe or to talk with an editor.
And speaking of NBJ, while today we're in Chicago to bear witness to just how mainstream the natural and organic worlds have come, later this week we will travel to the NBJ Summit for its exclusive exec-level confab. Look for more details on our findings.
