Kaneka Corporation of Japan recently conducted a Safety Assessment of KanekaQ10 on Japanese Healthy Subjects with a double blind, randomized placebo-controlled trial in Japan. Results were published in papers at the Japan Health Medicine Association on November 12, 2005, at the Japanese Society for Medical Use of Functional Foods on December 3, 2005 and will soon appear in the U.S. academic journal, “Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology”.
These results showed that KanekaQ10 in healthy subjects was well tolerated in dosages up to 900mg per day.
This study, undertaken to evaluate the safety of KanekaQ10 on healthy subjects, was the first such study conducted for this purpose. It was performed in the double blind, placebo-controlled design and protocol in order to eliminate the possibility of volunteer psychological effects. A total of eighty-eight (88) male and female healthy adult volunteers were enrolled in this study, with KanekaQ10 in softgel form taken for four (4) weeks at dosages of 300mg, 600 mg, and 900mg per day.
