Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Announces SoyScience New Name for CSPHP

(New York, NY) April 22, 2004 – Kyowa Hakko Kogyo, a subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko U.S.A., has announced its GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) ingredient SoyScience™ is the new trademarked name for CSPHP, a soy protein/phospholipid complex system that may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels within the normal range.

A proprietary fermentation process developed by Kyowa Hakko, one of the world’s foremost ingredient manufacturers, first hydrolyzes, then combines two distinct soy components to create this novel ingredient. The result of this unique technology is a highly potent dietary supplement ingredient for use in a wide range of food, beverage and supplement products.

Kyowa Hakko Kogyo will sponsor a SoyScience™ VendorWorks seminar at SupplySide East at the Baltimore Convention Center on Friday, May 7 from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. in Room 344. The seminar features Yoichiro Sugimura, Japan’s leading expert on soy peptides, discussing the new way to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Sugimura will review the molecular structure of soy protein, function of soy protein hydrolyzate/enzymatic-modified lecithin complex, protein and lipid binding mechanisms of soy protein and soy phospholipids, as well as SoyScience™ clinical, safety and stability studies.
