Dr Geoff Spriegel has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Leatherhead Board. Geoff joined Leatherhead in January 2011 initially as a Non-Executive Director.
Geoff's distinguished scientific and technical career in the food industry has included positions as Director of BRC Global Standards & Technical Services, British Retail Consortium (BRC); Technical Director, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets; Director of Quality Assurance, Grand Metropolitan (now Diageo); and Group Technical Manager, St Ivel/Unigate.
He has also carried out high-level consultancy work for Arla Foods UK, the Food Standards Agency, the RSPCA Good Business Awards, ASDA, GlaxoSmithKline, the Global Food Safety Initiative and the British Standards Institute.
An expert in food safety, Geoff holds a degree in Microbiology, an MSc in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Microbiology and Biochemistry.
