Natural Products Expo launches in Asia

New Hope Natural Media, a division of Penton Media, Inc, has announced Natural Products Expo Asia, a trade show and conference event to be held in Hong Kong, May 15-18, 2002.

This will be the first large-scale international event focused on the natural products industry held in the region. Target countries include: Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

The show, to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature five concurrent events: Traditional Chinese Medicine Asia, Herbal Asia, Nutraceuticals Asia, Functional Foods Asia and Organics Asia. "As Asia grows and places like China open up to global trade, it is critical for any company in the business to start laying down plans on how to benefit from this diverse and important region of the world," said Rick Prill, President of New Hope Natural Media. "We see huge potential for all aspects of the industry in Asia. By bringing our recognized name and creating a marketplace for the suppliers, manufacturers and traders in Asia, we are positioned to open this region to the global natural products industry."

The Asian event expects to promote around 250 Asian and international companies showcasing a range of products, including: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and herbal remedies, raw and organic ingredients, organic foodstuffs, natural supplements, natural cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals and functional foods plus technologies and equipment for processing and packaging of natural products.

Thousands of Asian, European and US buyers and sellers are expected to attend.
