New General Manager to Head NSF's Retail Food Safety Programs

Ann Arbor, MI-- NSF International has appointed Amy Bruner as the new General Manager of NSF’s Retail Food Safety Programs. Since 1944, NSF has been widely recognized as an independent certification and standards development organization dedicated to protecting the food consumers eat. Bruner will play a key role in advancing Dine SaferTM, a comprehensive food safety inspection program for the restaurant industry. She will also oversee the FreshCheckTM Program, a microbial inspection and food testing program that helps ensure stores serve high-quality food that is fresh and safe.

Bruner has more than five years experience working in the food industry. Before joining NSF, Bruner held managerial positions at Kraft Foods, Inc., where she worked in brand management supporting the Oscar Mayer and Louis Rich brands. At Kraft, Bruner led teams and managed all activities relating to maximizing profitability. These included: profit and loss statements, sales forecasting, advertising and consumer promotions, annual volume estimates, business plan development, new product launches, product quality and competitive analysis.

Most recently, Amy served as the marketing manager at NSF where she was responsible for formulating sales, marketing and business strategies for NSF’s food safety and consumer products programs. Amy has a master’s of business administration from the University of Colorado–Boulder and bachelor’s of business administration from Eastern Michigan University.

“Amy’s extensive experience in marketing, business development and in the food industry has brought NSF’s food safety programs to new levels,” said Nancy Culotta, vice president, retail food programs. “As general manager, she will continue to play a key role in advancing NSF’s position in the retail food industry, which will ultimately be of great benefit to consumers concerned about food safety issues.”
