Next Pharmaceuticals Announces New Medical Director and New Disrict Sales Manager

(Irvine, CA)– Next Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that Marvin Brown, MD. has accepted the position of Medical Director with Next. Dr. Brown has over twenty-five years of comprehensive experience as an academic physician and scientist and fifteen years of success as a Founder, President, CEO, Chairman and Director of technology-based companies. Dr. Brown was Co-founder, President, CEO and Chairman of Alanex Corporation, a biotechnology company sold to Agouron Pharmaceuticals in 1997. Prior to co-founding Alanex he was Professor of Medicine and Surgery, and Associate Director Division of Emergency Medicine, University of California, San Diego, and was an Associate Professor at the Salk Institute Peptide Biology Laboratory.

Next’s new District Sales Manager Kristine Haigh will be responsible for all aspects of branded ingredient sales to dietary supplement manufacturers and marketers. Ms. Haigh will also be working closely with Dr. Brown and Dr. Walt Chambliss, Chair of Next’s Scientific Advisory Board, to coordinate Next’s research grant application program for Relora®, Nexrutine®, Seditol™ and Citri-Z™. Kristine received her Bachelors of Science in Biology with emphasis in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS in 2000 where she worked with researchers to develop and synthesize new drugs. After college, pharmacological interests and organic philosophies drew her to the Natural Products industry, which she has called home for the past four years. Kristine began her career in raw material sales as the Eastern Regional Sales Manger for Wilke Resources, Inc., an established ingredients broker of both commodity and trademarked ingredients. Prior to her raw material sales position at Wilke Resources, Inc., she was the General Manager of NutraSense, growing sales of the dietary supplement line through national distributors.
