Niche Products Inc. has hired a new executive vice president, Derek Dearwater, to oversee its growth, marketing efforts and take over the day to day management of the firm.


Niche Products Inc., the Los Angeles-based CPG Broker, has hired a new executive vice president to oversee its growth, marketing efforts and take over the day to day management of the firm.

The company, which was founded in 2001 by Eric Schick, announced the hiring of Derek Dearwater, for the newly created position of Executive Vice President and Managing Partner. Eric Schick remains with Niche Products, Inc. as its President, which has 35 brokers across 8 trade channels nationwide.

"I'm looking forward to my role in managing Niche Product’s field sales operations, while contributing to the company’s product marketing consultation services—two facets of the business I truly enjoy", Dearwater said.

“We are excited to have Derek on our team”, said Eric Schick. "Derek is a classically trained, sales, marketing and operations executive, specializing in consumer packaged goods. He is a solution focused professional with 25 years of experience and highly skilled at developing human capital, building brand equity, cultivating customer relationships and driving profitable sales revenue. His channel expertise is inclusive of Food, Drug, Mass Merchandisers, Club, Natural/Sports Nutrition, Sporting Goods, Convenience, DIY Automotive, Hardware and Military retail classes of trade throughout North America”.

Most recently Mr. Dearwater was the COO for Cortislim International. He has held previous executive roles with Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, ConAgra Foods, Shell/Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, Leiner Health Products and GlaxoSmithKline. Mr. Dearwater is a graduate with distinction from The California University of Pennsylvania.
