NP Nutra announced the debut of its new GMO free Green Coffee Extract with 50 percent chlorogenic acid.
Since its sensational debut on “The Dr. Oz Show,” green coffee extract has been the rising star of the weight management category. Almost 1,000 years ago, though the practice of roasting the beans had not yet been implemented, people in Arabic regions prepared hot beverages from green coffee beans. And now green coffee is making its comeback, supported by modern research into the many health benefits it has to offer.
NP Nutra’s new green coffee extract comes as a light yellow brown powder, 100 percent water soluble and ready for use in supplements and functional products. NP Nutra’s Green Coffee Extract is standardized to 50 percent chlorogenic acid and is available in large quantities at the lowest price point in the industry. NP Nutra can also manufacture other green coffee products according to customer specification.
Green coffee is rich in chlorogenic acids—phenolic compounds which have been found to be highly bioavailable in humans. This means that a high percentage of the ingested product is distributed in the bloodstream and tissues rather than being excreted as waste. Phenols like chlorogenic acid are known for their ability to fight free radicals and reduce oxidative stress on cells.
In a small human study conducted over 22 weeks, significant reductions were observed in body weight, body mass index and body fat percentage in subjects taking a green coffee extract. Researchers are not sure why the green coffee extract appears to support weight management but they suspect that the reason may be the chlorogenic acid content. Larger studies are planned.
