NPA names John Shaw CEO

Long-time D.C. insider and former top administration official John Spitaleri Shaw is the Natural Products Association's new executive director and CEO.

The Natural Products Association (NPA), the nation’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to the natural products industry, today announced that long-time Washington, D.C., insider and former top administration official John Spitaleri Shaw will be its new executive director and CEO. NPA is a national organization, representing 1,900 members in all 50 states accounting for businesses both large and small in more than 10,000 retail, manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution locations of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health and beauty aids.

Shaw will address the board of directors personally and participate at the industry’s annual trade show in Las Vegas this week, Natural Products Association MarketPlace. More details about this event at

  • Assistant Secretary for Environment, Safety and Health at the Department of Energy
  • Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at the Portland Cement Association
  • Senate Investigative Counsel to Senator Fred Thompson
  • Public Policy Attorney with the Law Firm of Patton Boggs, LLP
