NPI Bites Review - Danone Activia(R) with B.L.(TM) culture

NPIcenter Rating: Rating of 4.5

Danone's Activia® conjures one word - Yum! Tasting both the vanilla and strawberry flavors was a pleasure. Most strawberry yogurts have a very sweet after-taste, with most yogurts far too sweet. I found the Activia® strawberry very subtle. Its got taste and a bonus probiotic ingredient, Bifidobacterium lactis B.L.(TM), to aid with normal digestion (Bifidobacterium lactis is a gram-positive anaerobic bacteria belonging to the same category as lactic bacteria). This is a unique product introduced into Canada last month and is the only yogurt to contain B.L.(TM). Activia® comes in a selection of different packages: 650 g container, 8-pack of 113 g containers, 12-pack of 113 g containers and 16-pack of 113 g containers. I'm impressed with the move by Danone into the tough-to-crack North American "gut health market". Activia® is now available at most groceries across Canada with the suggested retail price at $4.99 for a pack of eight containers. I've added it to my shopping list.
