(ANN ARBOR, MI USA) – NSF International (www.nsf.org), The Public Health and Safety Company™, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerry Bowman as Director of Corporate Communications. As Director of Corporate Communications, Jerry oversees a broad range of the NSF communication initiatives and promotional activities including the new marketing "Live safer" campaign launched in September to focus attention on NSF’s ongoing efforts to protect food, water, air and consumer products.
Jerry brings 18 years of communications experience to NSF’s marketing program. Prior to joining NSF, Jerry has held numerous positions in the educational and health care fields. As Director of Public Relations for the Ypsilanti-based High/Scope Educational Research Foundation, he focused on promoting research and educational initiatives designed for early childhood education. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of Marketing Communications at the Goldman Philanthropic Partnerships in Northbrook, Illinois, where he established funding partnerships with research institutions to advance groundbreaking research on cancer and other diseases.
As the Director of the Office of Public Relations at the American Academy of Pediatrics, Jerry managed several national promotional campaigns. The American Academy of Pediatrics is a 60,000 member pediatric member association promoting children's health. In addition to his extensive educational and medical experience, he has worked in television at CBS TV in Chicago and ABC TV in Detroit and held positions as reporter and speech writer. Jerry holds a Masters degree in Journalism from Columbia College in Chicago and a Bachelors degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University.
