NSF-ISR Establishes Presence in Canada

Ann Arbor, MI - NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd. (NSF-ISR), an NSF International company, today announced that it is establishing a presence in Canada by acquiring the operations of Deloitte & Touche Quality Registrar Inc., (D&T-QRI).

Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, all of the D&T-QRI staff in all offices will become employees of NSF-ISR. To maintain ongoing service, they will continue to operate from existing D&T-QRI offices as part of NSF-ISR to offer quality registration services to Canadian clients.

"We plan to make this transition seamless for all clients - they will be served by the same professionals, working from the same offices and with expanded capabilities," said Christian Lupo, general manager of NSF-ISR. "We are able to do that because NSF-ISR has built a positive and productive working relationship with D&T-QRI over the past two years. We know that the D&T-QRI staff members are leaders in their field, and we are confident they will continue to provide unsurpassed service and technical excellence to clients."

According to Remi Tosti, president of D&T-QRI, "This transaction allows our clients and professionals access to more resources through NSF-ISR. Having the full resources of the NSF organizations from which to draw upon to serve clients, opens opportunities for professional growth and the growth of the ISO business in Canada."

With this acquisition, NSF-ISR is now firmly positioned as a top ten registrar in North America with Canadian offices in Winnipeg, Kitchener, and Montreal. "With this acquisition, we will be able to provide expanded services to our growing number of Canadian clients who have come to rely on our dedication to individual service," according to Kevan P. Lawlor, president of NSF-ISR.

Clients will now have the opportunity to register to new standards for ISO/TS 16949, RC14001, RCMS, TL 9000, ISO 13485, OHSAS 18001 and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. NSF-ISR can provide services worldwide using its international network of auditors through offices in Brazil, Belgium, South Korea, and Taiwan. NSF-ISR also holds several international accreditations, including: IATF Recognition, ANAB (formerly RAB), and Raad voor Accreditate, the Dutch accreditation council.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. For additional information on these organizations, visit www.nsf.org or www.deloitte.ca.
