NSF's Pompliano Receives MDA Award

(ANN ARBOR, MI USA) - NSF International (www.nsf.org), The Public Health and Safety Company(tm), is pleased to announce that Kathleen Pompliano, MS, RD received the 2003 Michigan Dietetic Association (MDA) Public Relations Award. NSF is the leading global provider of public health and safety risk management solutions.

The MDA Public Relations award recognizes a Registered Dietitian who has developed and implemented an outstanding public relation project. Pompliano was recognized for her contributions in establishing an American National Standard for dietary supplements - NSF/ANSI 173, developing a certification program based on that standard and marketing the program.

As Manager of the NSF Dietary Supplements Certification Program, Pompliano evaluates new business opportunities, manages product development and coordinates marketing efforts. She has written several articles and has given numerous presentations to further promote the program including a presentation at the American Dietetic Association Food and Nutrition Conference and Exhibition. Pompliano holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Food and Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University.
