DEVON, PA – May 10, 2005 – Nurture Inc., manufacturer of OatVantage™ – the first highly concentrated source of oat soluble fiber – announced a strategic partnership with Glanbia Nutritionals, making them the exclusive European distributor for OatVantage.
The European launch of OatVantage will take place at the Vitafoods International Conference in Geneva, Tuesday through Thursday, May 10-12. Glanbia Nutritionals is a division of Glanbia plc, headquartered in Kilkenny, Ireland. Glanbia plc had more than $2.5 billion (US) in revenue in 2004, and employs more than 3,800 employees throughout the world.
A new business unit, Glanbia Nutritionals, was formed in 2003 with an emphasis on providing customized, science-based nutritional solutions. Current brands include TruCal, Provon, Bioferrin, Prolibra, Barpro, and TRI-Fx. Recently acquired Kortus Food Ingredient Services specializes in the production, research, and development of nutrient systems.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1997 determined that diets high in oat soluble fiber and low in fat may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by lowering total and LDL cholesterol levels. OatVantage provides 18 times the amount of soluble fiber found in common oats.
According to the FDA, people who consume products containing three grams of oat soluble fiber per day – or about three bowls of instant oatmeal – may reduce their risk of heart disease. Unfortunately, for most consumers, eating this much instant oatmeal or cold oat cereal is unrealistic, and finding an effective dietary supplement has been difficult – until now.
