Nurture, Inc. Announces Western U.S. Distribution Partner for OatVantage

DEVON, PA (March 20, 2006) – Nurture Inc., manufacturer of OatVantage® – the first highly concentrated source of oat soluble fiber that helps lower cholesterol – announced a sales agent and distribution partnership with American Ingredients, Inc. (A.I.), a division of Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., appointing A.I. as Nurture’s exclusive Western distributor.

“OatVantage is the nutritional ingredient that consumers know, trust and overwhelmingly prefer to help lower cholesterol. It formulates into virtually any dietary supplement, food and beverage. With over 100 million Americans walking around with elevated cholesterol with a consequently higher risk of coronary heart disease, this very exciting ingredient is well positioned in a rapidly growing market. American Ingredients is delighted to be teaming up with Nurture to provide dietary supplement and functional food manufacturers with a break-through oat product backed with high-quality clinical data and outstanding regulatory support,” said Howard Simon, President of American Ingredients.

“Our agreement with American Ingredients ensures that our growing base of Western customers will receive the high level of service and technical support that has distinguished American Ingredients in the marketplace,” said H. Griffith Parker, Nurture, Inc. Chairman. “Our relationship with A.I. will also provide our OatVantage customers with increased access to the formulation skill of Pharmachem Laboratories, AI’s parent corporation.”

About 65 million people have “borderline high” cholesterol levels between 200 – 240 mg/dL. For patients with borderline high cholesterol, physicians typically do not recommend prescription drugs, which work primarily in the liver. Instead, they encourage patients to lower their cholesterol through exercise and diet, including dietary supplements. A recent clinical study demonstrated that OatVantage, which works in the digestive tract, causes a significant reduction in LDL “bad” cholesterol, while maintaining levels of HDL “good” cholesterol. By building significant viscosity in the digestive tract, OatVantage may also benefit two other cardiovascular risk factors, blood sugar control and weight management. OatVantage – the first and only highly concentrated source of oat soluble fiber – provides 18 times the amount of soluble fiber found in oats.
