OmniActive Health Technologies, once again, is in the race for the Nutraceutical Business & Technology (NBT) Awards; this year, as finalist for the Environmental Excellence Award. NBT, a leading international business-to-business magazine, will present the awards at Vitafoods Europe on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Starling Geneva Hotel & Conference Center in Geneva, Switzerland. Other finalists in the Environmental Excellence category include: Croda, IRB Tech, Seagreens Ltd, and Algea AS.
The Environment Award focuses on corporate social responsibility and the environment. OmniActive, in order to become a finalist, needed to establish that they are a successful green innovator with environmental breakthroughs; OmniActive was able to show evidence of leadership and innovation in the field of biodiversity, conservation, benefits sharing and education, and reduced waste and energy efficiency when it came to the production of their marigolds. OmniActive’s premium marigolds are used in their Lutemax range of products including Lutemax Free Lutein, Lutemax Lutein Esters, and award-winning Lutemax 2020, which all received FDA affirmed GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) notification. OmniActive strives to enhance human wellness not only through their products but also through their practices.
"We are thrilled to be recognized as a finalist for the Environmental Excellence Award," said Sanjaya Mariwala, managing director at OmniActive Health Technologies. "We strive to create game- changing technologies that perpetuate our reputation as a leader in the industry, and we are committed to responsible sourcing methods, managing an effective supply chain, reducing our carbon output and contributing to communities through socially and culturally responsible practices."
