Pangea Wins Best New Product of the Year 2007

Boulder, CO (USA) - October 10, 2006 - Pangea Organics’ Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry Facial Mask was awarded Best New Product for 2007 at New Hope Natural Media’s Natural Products Expo East 2006 in Baltimore, MD, where the company introduced its new product offerings for 2006-2007: three massage & body oils (Malagasy Ginger with Lemongrass; Italian White Sage & Geranium; and Pyrenees Lavender with Cardamom) and the Japanese Matcha Tea with Acai & Goji Berry facial mask, which led the company to victory.

Pangea’s Facial Mask, the ultimate multi-tasker, detoxifies, deep-cleans and exfoliates, tones, moisturizes, and even helps to reduce wrinkles. Containing unique ingredients such as acai, goji berry and matcha tea, Pangea Organics’ Facial Mask combines a powerful blend of antioxidants and anti- aging elements that leaves skin polished, glowing and radiant.

Always mindful of the environment and our daily impact on the planet, Pangea has created new packaging that is plantable. Pangea Organics collaborated with Seeds to Change, the largest producer of organic seeds, to create the first ever, 100% compostable, biodegradable and plantable product packaging. It is manufactured with zero waste and created from 100% post-consumer newsprint—without glues and dies. Out of the box and into your garden, Pangea’s molded fiber box is the first of its kind. Soak the box for one minute and plant it about 1” deep in soil. The seeds in the packaging include edible Genovese Sweet Basil and flowering Amaranth.

Pangea Organics has already received two awards in honor of the company’s initial innovative/ compostable package design (this before the seeded packaging initiative). In April 2006 Pangea took home Best Packaging Award at Organic Products Europe in London. In September 2005, Pangea Organics was awarded first place in the category of “Green/Environmental Impact” at Natural Products Expo East and was recognized as one of six companies with the Best New Product Offerings for 2006.

As a direct result of the company’s innovative new packaging design and high performance products, Pangea Organics recently achieved expanded shelf presence in the two largest natural grocery chains in the United States: Whole Foods and Wild Oats. It is now carried in nearly 700 retail locations across the U.S., including approximately 290 Whole Foods and Wild Oats locations, as well as independent natural grocers, gift stores, select spas, yoga studios and boutiques. And that’s not to mention retailers in the following 15 countries: Australia, Canada, China, Dubai, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
