[9/26/2005] Solvay and Pronova Biocare sign license agreement for Omacor®
Solvay Pharmaceuticals and Norway-based Pronova Biocare have announced the signing of an additional license and supply agreement for Pronova's Omacor(R), with Solvay acquiring exclusive distribution rights for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong-Kong and New Zealand for the highly purified omega-3-acid ethyl ester product.

[9/22/2005] Arizona Company Licenses Wake Forest Technology to Develop Nutritional Supplement
According to an article in the Arizona Daily Star, Arizona-based drug research company Acenta Discovery Inc. has licensed technology from Wake Forest University in the hopes of developing a nutritional supplement based on a combination of huperzine A (found in the Chinese club moss plant) and soy products. According to the article, the product would be aimed at slowing memory loss.

[9/15/2005] NutraCea Signs $21.6 Million Definitive Agreement with Food Trading Dominicana in Dominican Republic
US-based NutraCea (NTRZ) has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to establish a joint entity with Food Trading Company Dominicana, S.A. The joint entity will be equally owned by NutraCea and Food Trading Company Dominicana, S.A. and is anticipated to generate $21.6 million in product revenue over the next two years.

US-based TRIMSPA, Inc. has formed a licensing agreement with Lifestyle Beverages LLC to begin the manufacturing and distribution of TrimWater, a new nutritionally enhanced flavored water beverage intended to serve as a healthy alternative to the standard diet drink. The product is set to launch in October initially in the New York/Tri-state area where it will be available at direct store delivery and c-store locations.

US-based supplement company Nutrition 21, Inc. (NXXI) has announced an agreement with South-Korea-based pharmaceutical company Dong Sung Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd. for the sale of Nutrition 21's Chromax(R) and Diachrome(R) in the Republic of South Korea. The deal requires Dong Sungto obtain regulatory approval from the Korea Food and Drug Administration prior to selling or marketing the products.
