Company Expands Response to Growing Consumer Demand With Apple, Lemonade & Fruit Punch Fruit Juices
DADE CITY, FLA. – (January 30, 2004) – Expanding its response to the growing consumer demand for low calorie and low carbohydrate fruit juice products, Pasco Beverage Company today announced the introduction of three new Less-Cal/Less-Carb fruit juices: Apple, Lemonade and Fruit Punch. Each new frozen beverage features just 40 calories and less than 10 grams of carbohydrates, "that’s 70 per cent fewer carbs than regular fruit juices," said Pasco Beverage Chief Operating Officer John C. Minton.
"More and more Americans are becoming increasingly health conscious and many popular diet plans have suggested the need to limit carbohydrates and calories," said Minton. "These new products offer innovative responses that complement our recently-introduced Less-Cal/Less-Carb orange juice cocktail for the corporate brand market."
Minton said recently released research findings of the Florida Citrus Commission note nearly 40 per cent of the people following the popular low-carbohydrate diet plans are consciously drinking less orange juice. "These figures are increasing and certainly make a strong case for products low in calories and low in carbohydrates," he noted. "Additionally, this is a broad-based consumer demographic, giving even greater potential to our corporate brand customers to regain those consumers that have left the juice category with our expanding line of Less-Cal/Less-Carb products."
