American Bioceuticals Products to be Available Over-the-Counter at CVS/pharmacy and Meijer Stores
RENO, Nev. (March 29, 2007) —The millions of Americans who suffer from the pain and discomfort of cold sores, canker sores, muscle cramps and shingles can finally throw away the messy creams and pricey prescriptions previously used to manage these conditions, and pick up oral medications over-the-counter at their local drugstore.
Products available soon to consumers nationwide include:
- Lipreve(TM): The first oral, over-the-counter medication for quickly healing cold sores;
- Orul(TM): The first oral, over-the-counter medication for treating canker sores;
- Zostamine(TM): The first oral, over-the-counter medication for treating shingles; and
- Crampamine(TM): An oral, over-the-counter medication that prevents and provides relief from muscle cramps and the pain and stiffness associated with them.
The products are available from Reno, Nev.-based American Bioceuticals, a privately held company that specializes in providing over-the-counter, oral medications for common health conditions.
"These products will positively affect millions of consumers across the country," said Michael Nelson, president of American Bioceuticals. "Until now, consumers have been limited in their choices for effective treatments of cold sores, canker sores, shingles and muscle cramps. Other treatment options are primarily topical-based ointments, which many consumers find inconvenient, messy and ineffective."
Nelson also confirmed that CVS/pharmacy stores will have Crampamine on shelves in May and Meijer stores will carry the full American Bioceuticals line by summer of 2007. Additionally, each of the products will soon be available for purchase on the company's Web site at www.americanbioceuticals.com.
