Proliant Ingredients Division Divides to Accommodate Growth and Innovation

AMES, Iowa - (May 28, 2002) – Proliant Inc., a global leader in applied protein sciences for food, health, and nutrition, is pleased to announce the creation of two new divisions, the Meat Ingredients Division and the Dairy Ingredients Division. These new divisions will replace the Ingredients Division, which previously included the meat and dairy products. Both divisions will remain based at Proliant’s world headquarters in Ames, IA.

In 1991, Proliant established a joint venture with Hilmar Cheese Company of Hilmar, CA to strategically unite Hilmar Cheese Company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing of high quality whey protein concentrate and lactose product lines with Proliant’s protein expertise, R&D, and sales. A solid foundation of teamwork and dedication has built a continuing long-term, synergistic relationship. Chia-Wei Chang has been named as Executive Vice President of the Meat Ingredients Division. Mr. Chang brings 15 years of experience with Proliant and Proliant’s sister company, APC Inc. Chris Snyder, previously Vice President of the Ingredients Division, has been named as the Executive Vice President of the Dairy Ingredients Division. Mr. Snyder has been with Proliant for six years.
