BRANTFORD, ON - Proprietary Nutritionals, Inc., today announced it has acquired the worldwide marketing rights for CranMax® cranberry extract, the most potent cranberry extract available on the market today.
“We were pleasantly surprised to learn of the large number of physicians and pharmacists who already recommend CranMax Extract by name,” said Dean Mosca, President, Proprietary Nutritionals. “That awareness level will be extremely valuable as we launch our national branding program.
“It is the only cranberry extract, with extensive proprietary clinical evidence, proven to reduce urinary tract infections, (UTIs),” said Mosca. “Clinical studies conducted using CranMax extract have shown that it reduces infections, reduces medical visits and reduces the need for antibiotics. A study currently underway is comparing CranMax extract to prescribed antibiotics for patients with diagnosed UTI’s.
According to Urologist and researcher, Anil Kapoor, M.D., “The early results look promising for CranMax extract, not only in preventing UTI’s, but also as a potential alternative to antibiotic use in the treatment of UTI’s.”
According to the National Institute of Health, 80% of all women will experience a UTI in their lifetime and approximately 20% of women will have a UTI each year. Of the estimated 40 million UTI cases occurring each year, 30 million are unreported and involve self-medication. A staggering one out of every seven doctor visits are urinary tract related. UTIs are the most common complication of pregnancy and a condition much more prominent in seniors.
“These statistics tell us that there is a large market for women and seniors that are looking for an effective, off-the-shelf supplement that can reduce the symptoms of UTIs and promote urinary tract health,” said Mosca.
“Our cranberry extract is perfectly positioned to fill that need because it is a potent, cost-effective and clinically proven supplement. Potential for consumer compliance with CranMax extract is also much greater because the required dosage is only 500mg per day. Many other cranberry supplements require consumers to take up to 12 capsules per day.”
“Our extract is much more potent than cranberry juice or any other cranberry supplement powders because it is made through a proprietary process utilizing the full spectrum of the cranberry,” added Mosca. “It is made from 100% of the cranberry, includingpulp, fiber, seeds, skin and highly concentrated juice, without the use of carriers, solvents, preservatives, sugars, water, flavorings or color. In addition, it incorporates a patented, BIO-SHIELD® technology that protects the cranberry from destruction by gastric acid, delivering the nutrients to the lower gastrointestinal tract where they can be more effectively absorbed at the target site.”
Initial marketing efforts, according to Mosca, will focus on working with manufacturing partners to develop UTI formulations, women’s and senior’s products containing CranMax extract which can be easily formulated into tablets, capsules, bars, and drinks. Once thorough distribution is established, a two-pronged, national branding program will be launched to educate medical professionals, and consumers.
Proprietary Nutritionals, Brantford, ON, has also acquired the worldwide rights to other BIO-SHIELD® products, including BLUE-MAX®, blueberry infused powder; BIL-MAX®, bilberry infused powder; SAW-MAX®, saw palmetto infused powder; ELDER-MAX®, elderberry infused powder; EYE-MAX®, a formula containing Blue-Max, Bil-Max and Lutein; APPLE-MAX™, apple infused powder and GRAPE-MAX™, grape infused powder.
