Quality Of Life Labs Plans Significant Increase In AHCC Sales

Projected Growth Prompts QOL to Seek Additional Licensees

PURCHASE, NY, February 19, 2004 -- Quality of Life Labs (QOL), the exclusive U.S. distributor of the popular immune-enhancing ingredient Active Hexose Correlated Compound (AHCC), is announcing plans for significant growth in AHCC sales, projecting 2004 sales growth of up to 200 percent compared to 2003. Projected increases are based on the actual volume recorded in 2003 by AHCC branded ingredient licensees American Bio Sciences, Source Naturals, Pure Prescriptions and Vitamin Shoppe. They have all offered AHCC as a branded or private label product for over a year.

"AHCC is a promising and scientifically proven ingredient that continues to show great potential with our licensees as a brand name or private label offering," said Hank Cheatham, director of sales and marketing at Quality of Life Labs. "Due to this projected growth, we will continue expanding the availability of AHCC and are seeking other companies that may be interested in selling AHCC as either a stand-alone or blended immune enhancing nutrient."

AHCC is a medicinal mushroom extract derived from a highly specialized manufacturing process that relies on the hybridization of several species of medicinal mushrooms, organically cultivated in Japan. It has been the subject of several clinical studies throughout the U.S. and Japan and many hospitals and medical centers worldwide recommend AHCC as part of an on-going immune enhancement program. In addition, AHCC was awarded the esteemed NutrAward Best New Product of 2002 at the Nutracon Executive Conference. The award criteria were based on excellence in the following areas: scientific merit, efficacy, safety, innovation, market potential and credibility to advance the industry.

Quality of Life Labs, sister company of Maypro Industries, Inc., is located in Purchase, New York and is committed to providing the marketplace with safe, unique and efficacious dietary supplements, which are supported by sound scientific research.
