(Chicago) March 5, 2007 – Rakesh Amin, former managing member of Amin Law and William J. (Hal) Hallihan, previously head of Hallihan Intellectual Property Law Ltd., have announced the formation of Amin Hallihan LLC, the only full-service FDA, FTC and patent boutique law firm serving clients worldwide. Based in Chicago, Amin Hallihan is a 10-attorney group with over 100 years of combined FDA and patent experience.

Rakesh Amin, managing attorney, spends significant time practicing all aspects of FDA, FTC and USDA law as well as intellectual property law and litigation. His practice includes reviewing for regulatory compliance all forms of labeling, packaging and advertising including websites, radio shows, infomercials and third-party literature. Amin is a registered pharmacist and Juris Doctor graduate of the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. He earned a Masters in Laws in Health Law at the DePaul University College of Law, Health Law Institute and was editor of the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law. Amin has also taught Food and Drug Law as an adjunct professor at the DePaul University College of Law.

William J. (Hal) Hallihan is the manager of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. He is a registered patent attorney in the U.S. and Canada. His practice is focused on intellectual property procurement, licensing and litigation. Hallihan’s experience includes client counseling, technology transfer, patent and trademark prosecution, patent interference, patent re-examination, patent re-issue, due diligence, licensing and litigation. In addition, his expertise includes copyrights, trade secrets, antitrust, unfair competition, RICO actions and UCC issues.
