RFI Introduces OxyPhyte® Grape Skin Extract

New from RFI Ingredients, Blauvelt, NY, is OxyPhyte® Grape Skin Extract, the latest addition to the company’s line of OxyPhyte® antioxidant products. OxyPhyte® Grape Skin Extract is a unique ingredient formulation standardized to 10% resveratrol and 40% proanthocyanadins. With an ORAC value* of more than 6000 umoles TE/g, OxyPhyte® Grape Skin Extract offers the benefits of grape-based ingredients with the high ORAC value that is the signature of our OxyPhyte® line. Resveratrol is the antioxidant compound found in red wine believed to be responsible for low incidence of cardiovascular disease in wine-drinking European countries.

Additionally, RFI has reformulated its OxyPhyte® Heart Blend product to incorporate the benefits of OxyPhyte® Grape Skin Extract. The newly reformulated Heart Blend now combines the heart-healthy benefits of apple and pomegranate polyphenols, green tea catechins and resveratrol from grape skin. All these compounds have been linked to prevention of cardiovascular disease. By targeting resveratrol in this new formulation, the recommended dosage provides a resveratrol content of 15-30 glasses of red wine as well as equal catechin content to one cup of brewed green tea.

All ingredients in the OxyPhyte® line are GRAS extracts specifically selected for their antioxidant activity. These antioxidant benefits have been concentrated by selectively extracting the phytonutrients responsible for the antioxidant activity and combining them to complement each other and provide maximum antioxidant capacity.
