RFI Introduces OxyPhyte Ultra Blend, Completes Bioavailability Assay

New from RFI Ingredients, Blauvelt, NY, is OxyPhyte™ Ultra Blend, the latest addition to the company’s line of OxyPhyte™ antioxidant products. The new Ultra Blend—which is a proprietary combination of white tea, rosemary and apple—offers the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) value on the market and can economically provide the antioxidant equivalent of several servings of fruits and vegetables in either supplement or functional food or beverage form.

All ingredients in OxyPhyte™ Ultra Blend are GRAS extracts specifically selected for their antioxidant activity. These antioxidant benefits have been concentrated by selectively extracting the phytonutrients responsible for the antioxidant activity and combining them to complement each other and provide maximum antioxidant capacity.

Bioavailability Assay Confirms Potency

The Ultra Blend product was the subject of a recent assay to measure bioavailability in human subjects. The study was conducted at the Health Research Studies Center in Stanford, CA. A baseline ORAC level of blood serum of subjects was measured prior to ingesting the OxyPhyte™ product and then again after 30 minutes and one hour. Increases of blood ORAC levels averaged 12% and were as high as 32%, providing evidence that the OxyPhyte™ product is absorbed into the blood and increases the antioxidant capacity of the blood plasma.
