On February 28th, VION signed a sales and distribution Joint Venture with the Japanese Company Jellice for its Rousselot® gelatine company. The Rousselot-Jellice Joint Venture applies for the Japanese market. It will be 51% owned by VION and 49% by Jellice Japan.
Rousselot has been a longstanding company based in Tokyo in Japan. The company established business relations with Jellice ten years ago and is now taking its presence in Japan one step further.
The creation of the Joint Venture will provide Japanese customers an outstanding combination of skills and products from both companies as well as improved commercial efficiency. Rousselot will take advantage of Jellice’s state-of-the-art industrial facilities and expects to strengthen its supply chain and end-product presentation for an improved customer satisfaction. This joint venture is a new step in Rousselot’s ambitions for growth in Japan and the other Asian markets. It also consolidates Rousselot’s number one position in the worldwide gelatine market.
The completion of this transaction is now subject to receipt of all customary approvals.
