Former New Zealand Dairy Group plant manager enhances Tetra Pak’s market expertise as product manager of cheese equipment
Vernon Hills, IL (January 16, 2003)—Tetra Pak announces the addition of Scott Walls, an eleven year veteran to the dairy industry, as the company’s new product manager of cheese equipment. Walls is working with Tetra Pak’s current customer base to help them modernize processing technologies, upgrade plant capacities and optimize cheese products and processes.
Spending his first few months actively analyzing the state of the cheese industry in the United States, Walls has focused his findings into innovations in the production of cheddar, semi-hard cheese, cottage cheese and mozzarella. With Tetra Pak’s modern processing lines, including separation, filtration and pasteurization, Walls is leading customers to become more efficient, increase capabilities, innovate with new products and gain competitive edge on category growth.
“Walls industry expertise is unparalleled,” said Doug Harper, director of branded products and distribution, Tetra Pak. “As Tetra Pak’s face to the cheese industry, Walls can help cheese manufacturers from ‘cow to consumer’.”
Walls joins Tetra Pak from the New Zealand Dairy Group, where he served as the plant manager for the Lichfield Plant, one of the leading cheese plants in the world. A specialist in milk powders, whey, liquids and the brine salt cheese varieties, Walls perfected his trade over the course of eleven years with the New Zealand Dairy Group. While at Lichfield, Walls’ team also released four, world first cheese types that are consumed locally and internationally.
“With our network of global expertise in cheese processing, Tetra Pak is committed to deliver top of the line solutions within the US market,” said Walls. “We are constantly expanding our product offerings to match consumer demand in the cheese industry.”
