SK Food Announces Non-GMO Verification

SK Food International announces its status as a Non-GMO Project Verified company. Ingredients SK Food International has enrolled in the program include yellow soybeans, soybean meal and flour, soy oil, Crimson Red, blue, white and yellow corn, corn oil, and flaxseed. SK Food International has already made its first sale of Non-GMO Project Verified product, which was certified organic soy oil.

“We are proud to be part of this program and fully support the initiatives and beliefs of the Non-GMO Project” notes Aaron Skyberg, SK Food International Sales/Marketing.

Skyberg serves on the Non-GMO Project Technical Advisory Board and Standards Committee. “SK Food International has shown deep commitment to ensuring the sustained availability of non-GMO choices. From early participation on the Non-GMO Project’s Technical Advisory Board to now being one of the first “Non-GMO Project Verified” ingredient suppliers, SK Food International is a true leader on this vitally important issue,” states Megan Westgate, Executive Director of the Non-GMO Project.

SK Food International has been supplying non-GMO ingredients for almost 20 years, which already included GMO testing. “Similar to our organic certification, our Non-GMO Project verification is a way to better serve our customers as a best value ingredient supplier by verifying that our ingredients are non-GMO,” says Skyberg.

The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization, created by leaders representing all sectors of the organic and natural products industry in the U.S. and Canada, to offer consumers a consistent non-GMO choice for organic and natural products that are produced without genetic engineering or recombinant DNA technologies. The Program is process-based, and encompasses traceability, segregation, and testing at critical control points.

SK Food International supplies a full line of Premium Quality Ingredients including Identity Preserved: Certified Organic and Conventional Non-GMO soybeans, grains, seeds, dry edible beans, flours/meals, rice products, vegetable oils, vinegars, brans/germs/fibers, instant powders/flakes, split/dehulled soybeans and sweeteners to a worldwide market.
