American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) has announced that Staci Eisner has accepted an invitation to serve on the AHP Board of Directors. A long time supporter and advisor of AHP, Staci Eisner exemplifies a person who gives of herself for the greater good. Staci graduated with high honors in 1992 from Cornell University with majors in chemistry and biology.

She currently works for Cortex Scientific Botanicals, where she is the Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs and is responsible for all aspects of quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Staci is a well-known and highly respected member of the natural products industry. She is perhaps most known for her straightforwardness and passion in addressing quality control issues that affect the entire industry. Her support of industry initiatives that encourage companies to do the right thing contributes to bringing a high level of integrity to herbal product quality.

Staci has served as a long-standing elected trustee of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), a role in which she outspokenly advocates for more stringent quality standards while exploring creative ways to ensure continued viability of small businesses in the industry. She presently chairs the AHPA government relations committee and participates in AHPA’s numerous subcommittees. She also serves as the Vice Chairman of the NSR/ANSI Dietary Supplement Joint Task Force for development of dietary supplement certification standards. Previously, she was a representative to the Institute for Nutraceutical Advancement’s Methods Validation Program. Staci has been the author or managing editor of several AHPA guidance documents on the manufacture of botanical extracts, standardization, the use of marker compounds, good documentation practices and shelf-life dating.

We are grateful that Staci accepted AHP’s appointment as an AHP Board member and look forward to working with her more closely and formally on the larger quality control issues facing the industry.
